DineFlow manual · Chapter 4
Tables, kitchen & service
Seat guests on a live floor plan, route tickets to the right kitchen station, tell runners when food is ready, and clear tables when they've paid — every step recorded.
Set up the floor plan
- 1Open Tables → Tables & reservations and add dining areas (Main hall, Terrace, VIP).
- 2Add tables with a name (T1, T2…), seats and shape, then drag them into place on the plan.
- 3Print each table’s QR card if you use table ordering (see Online orders).
A table from seating to clearing
| Table shows | Meaning | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Available | Free | Seat guests (choose how many) or start an order on it |
| Reserved | A booking is due | Seat the booking when they arrive |
| Occupied | Guests are eating | Add rounds; mark when they want the bill |
| Wants bill | Guest asked for the bill | Print the bill |
| Awaiting payment | Bill printed | Take payment |
| To clear | Paid | Clear the table when it's reset |
From a table you can also move guests to another table, merge two tables, assign a waiter, or mark it out of service.
A table with an unpaid balance can only be cleared if your workflow allows it and the person has the override permission — and they must give a reason.
Kitchen stations & the kitchen display
- 1In Settings → Kitchen stations add stations (Grill, Kitchen, Bar), choose which categories or dishes each one prepares, and a target time.
- 2On the kitchen screen open Kitchen → Kitchen display (it works full-screen on a TV, tablet or the app).
- 3New tickets appear with a chime: Accept → Start cooking → tap each item as it’s ready → All ready → Bump when it leaves the pass.
- Timers turn amber, then red, as a ticket passes its station’s target time.
- Mark a ticket priority to push it to the top; recall a bumped ticket from History.
- Voided items show as VOID — don’t make on the ticket straight away.
- With a kitchen printer set up, tickets can print automatically as they arrive.
No kitchen stations? Orders are treated as counter service and are ready as soon as they’re placed.
Collecting and serving
When the kitchen marks food ready, DineFlow notifies whoever collects it — the assigned waiter, any waiter, a runner, or the cashier, depending on your workflow.
- 1Open Orders → Service (app: More → Service). Ready to collect is at the top.
- 2Tap Collect when you pick it up from the pass, then Served at the table.
- 3An order is completed once it’s served and fully paid (takeaway: once handed over).
Reservations
- 1In Tables → Reservations (app: Floor → Reservations) choose the day and add a booking: name, phone, party size, time, length and notes (“birthday, window seat”).
- 2Optionally reserve a specific table — it shows the booking ahead of time.
- 3When guests arrive, Seat them at a free table. Otherwise mark No-show or Cancel.
