DineFlow manual · Chapter 8
Mobile app, printers & offline
The DineFlow Android app gives every member of staff their part of the system on a phone — and keeps the till running when the internet doesn't.
Install and sign in
- 1On the phone, open axionbizsolution.com/download/dineflow and tap Download for Android.
- 2Open dineflow.apk. If Android asks, allow your browser to install apps, then tap Install.
- 3Open DineFlow and sign in with the same email or phone and password you use on the console.
- 4Work at several restaurants? Choose one. Several branches? Tap the branch name at the top to switch.
Finding your way around
| Tab | What's there |
|---|---|
| Home | Today's sales, orders in the kitchen, food ready to collect, tables occupied, quick actions, top dishes, late tickets |
| Orders | Every order with filters (open, held, awaiting acceptance…), search, and the online orders queue |
| POS (centre) | Take orders and payments — the same as the console POS |
| Floor | Tables by area with live status, every table action, reservations |
| More | Kitchen, service, deliveries, shift, payments, menu, stock, customers, staff, reports, settings, printers |
The bell shows notifications — food ready, new online orders, refunds due. Everything you see follows your role: a waiter won’t see reports, a rider sees only their deliveries.
Selling with no internet
If the connection drops, an orange bar appears and the POS switches to offline mode using the menu saved on the phone:
- 1Take the order as normal. Totals are worked out on the phone the same way the server does.
- 2Charge in cash or card (M-Pesa prompts need the internet). The sale gets a temporary number like OFF-1435-A1B2 and a receipt prints.
- 3When the connection is back, sales sync on their own and get their real order numbers. Check them under More → Offline sales.
Your shift must be opened while online, because offline sales go into it. If a sale can’t sync (for example the shift was closed), it’s flagged for you to retry or discard — never silently lost. Don’t close your shift while sales are still waiting to sync.
Receipt printer, kitchen printer & cash drawer
Set these up once per phone in More → Printers & cash drawer:
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Receipt printer | Print dialog (any printer the phone knows, or PDF) · Bluetooth thermal printer · Network printer (IP address, port 9100) |
| Kitchen printer | None · Bluetooth · Network — prints kitchen tickets without prices |
| Paper | 58 mm or 80 mm, auto-cut on or off |
| Receipts | Print automatically after payment, barcode, customer + merchant copies |
| Cash drawer | Plugs into the receipt printer; opens for cash payments or every payment |
- 1For Bluetooth: pair the printer in Android’s Bluetooth settings first (PIN is often 0000 or 1234), then choose it from the list in DineFlow.
- 2For a network printer: enter its IP address (print a self-test page from the printer to find it).
- 3Press Print a test page.
Android POS handhelds with a built-in printer show it as an always-paired Bluetooth device — choose it like any other printer.
Updating the app
Download the new version from the same page and install it over the old one. You stay signed in, and any sales saved offline are kept.
